The models in this room came from the serdab of the Cancellor Meketre (Mekutra) and are considered the finest known from ancient Egypt. Meketre's tomb was in ruins when the Metropolitan's Egyptian Expedition explored it. It was totally unexpected for the Expedition to find a chamber in the corridor still intact. Fragments of the brightly-painted relied are in the Gallery 5. The models here are half of the original find, the remainder being in the Cairo Museum. All parts are original unless otherwise noted.
