Professor worked 16 years as a practicing architect, ten years with his own practice in Berlin. With his office he gained extensive architectural experience, built several award-winning projects, and collaborated on international projects with Arata Isozaki (Potsdamer Platz Berlin) and Christian de Portzamparc (new French Embassy).

Biographie   
Steffen has published widely. His research expertise includes: Sustainable urban design; public space research. Steffen is a member of the scientific steering committee for STaR, an EU-funded research project for the future of the city. For more information: www.slab.com.au
